How to export Arc Spaces, bookmarks and passwords before Dec 22

Arc stops working on December 22, 2026. These are the free, official steps. Sources are linked.

Free options first

Before you buy anything: several official and free tools already move Arc data. If one of these fits, use it. Each note says what the tool misses.

Key dates: Dec 15 is the last day to request a copy of your Arc data. Dec 22 Arc stops working. Whichever route you pick, do it before then.

Moving to Dia? You don't need to export

Dia imports Spaces (as Profiles), Favorites, pinned tabs, folders, bookmarks, history, passwords and extensions straight from Arc. On Mac use Dia > Import from Another Browser… > Arc. On Windows, quit Arc first. Keep Arc installed until the import finishes. (source)

Export Spaces and tabs (any browser)

  1. Mac: Arc > Settings > Advanced > Export Data. Windows: Ctrl+, then Advanced > Export Spaces and tabs > Export Data.
  2. Save Arc Data Export.md. It has one section per Space listing Favorites, pinned tabs, folders and other sidebar tabs as links.
  3. The file is a list of links, not a bookmarks file. To import it as real bookmark folders, convert it (the kit includes a script) or add the links by hand.

Just need one folder? Right-click it and choose Copy All Links. On Mac, hold Option for Copy All Links as Markdown. (source)

Where Arc keeps your sidebar

Arc stores Spaces, pinned tabs and folders in StorableSidebar.json:

Back it up now. Open-source tools such as arc-export turn it into bookmarks HTML.

Easels and Boosts

Easels: open each one, then Share > Share Via… to save a PNG. Boosts can't be exported. (Arc Help Center)
